Change Your Job Through EducationEasy Upgrades Offered For a Planned Career Change to a Dream Job
Thinking of changing your job to something totally different, but don't know where to start? You can do it with the new courses offered as Graduate Programs/Certificates.
If you feel your calling has been hearing too many busy signals, it's time to investigate the many other options you have - and you DO have them. With the advent of so many graduate programs and/or certificates offered by colleges and universities, it's never been easier to change your track and career into that dream opportunity! How Much Time/Money Is Involved In These Programs?The good news is many programs are now offered through Continuing Education departments, which means you can take many of the required courses at night. As well, many only need a total of six to 10 credits, and can be completed in two semesters going full time. Consider starting off as part time, to ensure you do like what you've always dreamed of doing. As for costs, a quick internet search yielded results ranging from $1400 to $4999 per semester, plus incidentals. Does One Need Previous Education?Yes and no. Many programs only need anykind of diploma or degree, or just working in a particular related field. The idea here is to allow better accessibility to all. Many of the programs also have a provision that allows those with years of experience to gain admission without education; some provide for upgrade courses taken before entering the main program - to ensure adequate math and English proficiency. Here is a sample of programs to look into. ForensicsThe popularity of shows such as CSI:The Experts has created awareness of this field. And no, you do NOT have to be a scientist to be part of this exciting drama; you don't even need a health degree! You do need a degree or diploma, or be a member of or have work experience as a police officer or security field. (For Forensic Health Studies you do need a degree/diploma in at least a social science, but not for Forensic Investigative Studies). 3D Animation or GamingIf you have any kind of fine arts degree/diploma, or sculpting, graphic design, photography, film/video, etc - then you can apply for these programs. This does not just qualify you to build games, but to find work as modelers, animators, levelers, etc. Business IntelligenceGot experience but no education to back it up? Want to get ahead in business? This program gives you business research skills to become a valuable business analyst to any company. You learn to collect and analyze information as well as predict business trends/markets.
